Whiskey Glazed Burger

Create a tasty treat for Father's Day

What you need

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of Mash Direct Beer Battered Chips
  • 1 packet of Mash Direct Beer Battered Onion Rings
  • 2 Burgers
  • 2 brioche buns
  • Cheese slices
  • Salt & pepper to season
  • For the whiskey glaze:
  • ¼ cup whiskey
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (to taste)

Recipe method

Cook the Beer Battered Chips and Onion Rings according to packet instructions.

Preheat the grill or a grill pan to medium high heat. Once hot, season the burgers with salt and pepper and then grill, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium rare. Add a cheese slice to the burger and allow to melt.

Remove the burgers from the grill and cover with foil to allow the burgers to rest while you prepare the toppings.

To make the whiskey glaze, add the whiskey, ketchup, soy sauce, honey, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and cayenne to a small saucepan.

Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Simmer 5 minutes or until the sauce has thickened slightly.

Keep warm over low heat until ready to serve (or store in the fridge and warm before serving).

To serve, place each burger on a toasted bun. Top with a good amount of whiskey glaze and a few Beer Battered Onion Rings. We also added some red cabbage. Add the top bun and TUCK IN!

Serve with Mash Direct Beer Battered Chips.
