Hidden Vegetable Sausage Rolls

Can't get enough of sausage rolls? Why not try this recipe with a veggie twist?

What you need


  • ½ Pack Mash Direct Broccoli Cheese
  • 200g Pack Mash Direct Carrot and Parsnip Mash
  • 450g Sausage Meat (You can easily push the meat out from the skins of readymade sausages)
  • 1 Pack 375g Ready Rolled Pastry
  • 1 Egg Beaten.
  • Pinch of Salt and Black Pepper

Recipe method

Pre Heat oven to 200c

Chop up your broccoli into smaller pieces.

Mix the broccoli cheese, sausage meat, carrot and parsnip and seasoning in bowl.

Roll the puff pastry out into a large rectangle on a floured surface, then cut into two long rectangles.

Place a layer of sausage meat and veg mixture down the middle of each pastry rectangle, then brush with beaten egg on one of the long edges.

Fold the other side of the pastry over onto the egg-washed edge. Press down to seal and trim any excess. Cut each pastry roll into 4-6 sausage rolls.

Make a thin cut on top of the pastry on each sausage roll and brush the beaten egg mixture on top of the sausage rolls

Place the sausage rolls onto a baking tray and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is crisp and golden and the sausage meat is completely cooked through.

Remove sausage rolls from the oven and remove them carefully from the baking tray and place them on a baking rack to cool.

Make it a meal.
