After over two years sitting quietly on the Mash Direct farm, the Mash Bus is going back on the road again!
This weekend we're headed to the Antrim coast where our Mash Bus will become the broadcasting base for the 2021 Antrim Coast Half Marathon. You'll find us at Chaine Memorial tower - the start and finish line for the marathon, which will see some of the UK and Irelands fastest runners compete for the top spot alongside select international participants as they take in stunning views along the Antrim Coast.
Four-time Olympic champion, Sir Mo Farah will be in attendance but unable to compete due to a foot injury. Sir Mo won last year's Half Marathon with a time of 60 minutes 27 seconds and will undertake an ambassador role for this year's event.
Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor William McCaughey, said: “I am delighted to see the safe return of spectators to sporting events across our Borough this year, and to be able to welcome some of the most famous sportsmen and women here is a real privilege.
The day will also feature live music, urban markets, a kids’ play area, street art and circus acts in the Sandy Bay finishers’ area, while Cornish singing group, Fisherman’s Friends, headline the outdoor after-party in Market Yard that evening.
