Yard Operative

Mash Direct, based on a working farm close to Comber are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of our yard and public outside area. This role involves a variety of tasks including maintaining outside areas and walkways to be clear, clean and organised. The successful applicant will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety.

Duties:

– Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard and pallet storage areas, ensuring they are free from hazards.

– Maintain staff production walkways

– Keeping walkways and car parks free of litter.

– Maintaining green areas, planting and weeding of flowerbeds, hedge strimming.

– Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.

– Counterbalance forklift use to include disposing of broken pallets and emptying waste containers.

– Power washer use.

– Use of your own initiative to resolve issues.

Requirements:

– Previous experience in a warehouse or yard environment is preferred.

– Proficiency in operating counterbalance forklifts; certification is an advantage.

– Ability to perform manual handling and lifting duties.

– Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

– A proactive attitude towards safety and teamwork is essential for success in this role.
