Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000.00 – £40,000.00 per year
Mash Direct is an award-winning, progressive business that produces and distributes quality mash and vegetable side dishes to homes across Ireland and the UK.
With a state-of-the-art factory and continued growth across our customer base, we are seeking to recruit for a Hygiene Manager to ensure hygiene is at the centre of our food manufacturing culture. This is a key role reporting into the Head of Technical and forms part of our wider day-shift operational leadership team.
The purpose of this role is to provide an effective hygiene management service to ensure full compliance with all relevant legal, customer, BRC, and Company standards.
You will ensure that all aspects of hygiene across the site are maintained to the highest standard, and that environmental microbiological performance is consistently monitored and improved.
– Maintain hygiene standards in all areas of the factory
– Work closely with production and planning teams to minimise downtime while ensuring thorough cleaning
– Ensure a comprehensive cleaning plan is in place, reviewed, and continuously developed
– Liaise with hygiene chemical providers and cleaning experts to introduce best-in-class practices
– Audit cleaned areas and machinery, including visual inspections and hygiene swabs
– Investigate and resolve out-of-spec environmental micro results
– Control key hygiene-related contracts including chemicals, laundry, PPE, and consumables
– Maintain and enforce Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) across all teams
– Promote a culture of continuous improvement in hygiene processes
– Control and monitor the hygiene budget
– Maintain all cleaning standards, records, and procedures in line with BRC and audit expectations
– Previous hygiene management experience within a factory or food manufacturing setting
– Relevant qualifications such as COSHH, IOSH
– Experience working to BRC or customer audit standards
– HACCP Level 3 certification
– Knowledge of pest control management
– Experience managing hygiene or operational budgets
