This half-term, round up your little monsters and create some frightful treats with us! 🧟
Another Halloween has managed to creep up on us and now the kids are off for half term, are you looking for some ideas to entertain the little ghosts and ghouls?
We’ve collected some ideas from our staff around the farm and created a list of fun activities for you and your kids to enjoy over this break:
Organise a contest – Whether it’s a traditional apple-bobbing, a lego-building competition or a conkers championship, a little bit of rivalry can add to the fun!
Have a treasure hunt – Hide things around the house or garden and give them a pirate map with clues and riddles to find the “treasure”.
Encourage green fingers – Autumn is a great time to plant bulbs like snowdrops, daffodils and crocus’ so that come spring, the garden is in bloom. Or get them to sweep up the fallen leaves and jump into the pile.
Autumn crafts – Get crafty! Collect items from your garden or local park, such as small rocks, pine cones, conkers or sticks and set them to work on autumn-themed paintings or collages.
Get outside – Dig out the coat and wellies, grab a camera or sketchbook, and head out into the woods or forest and have a little adventure exploring the local area, snapping or drawing what you see along the way.
Pick up a Pumpkin – Why not head to a local pumpkin patch, pick up a pumpkin to take home and carve out some terrifying faces to scare the neighbours.
Cook up some frightful dishes – Create spooky-themed dishes such as mashed ghosts, Mini mummy cakes and many more! Be sure to check out our videos where our resident Witch and her cackling assistant created some frightful dishes for you to recreate at home. Don’t forget to share your creepy creations with us!
