Peter Rabbit Campaign

In 2018 we worked with Sony Pictures to promote the launch of the Peter Rabbit movie across the island of Ireland.  Peter Rabbit, with his love of carrots, jumped at the chance to work with a brand dedicated to providing healthy and nutritious vegetable side dishes to families. Using a combination of marketing techniques and platforms such as: out of home, outreach to press, social media, competition prizes and a PR event we decided to utilise the connection between our two brands to roll out and kick-start our marketing plan for 2018.  This included putting together packs for influencers, hosting a film screening in Belfast, putting up billboards in Dublin and working with teams in Los Angeles, London and Dublin.

New York Launch

Earlier this year we promoted our launch into the US with a special event in New York.  We created digital content, new packaging and sampling campaign across stores in the city to celebrate our range hitting the shelves.  We conducted similar events for our launches into Dubai and Qatar and have upcoming launches in Singapore and Boston.

Bringing Farming to the Digital Age

We introduced a ‘Video Strategy’ in 2016 to bring our fields closer to the forks of our customers through their phones.  As a farm wanting to showcase our fields and show our customers where their food was coming from every week it was too good an opportunity to miss.  This strategy has been successful for us to showcase the fields here in County Down and has led to a huge rise in our social traffic as well as to stage our vegetables to journalists as well as consumers.  Our video for our Christmash Tree was picked up by the Belfast Telegraph, generating over 1.2k shares on social media.  We even bought a drone to show the fields from above.  All of this has helped to generate over 412,000 video views to promote Northern Irish vegetables in what was the Year of Food and Drink.

Guerilla Marketing: Bringing the Farm to the City

One campaign that helped us to secure our new deals was the #CulchieLife campaign which we unleashed on an unwitting Belfast in September 2016, taking over the bus stops of Donegall Square and turning them into makeshift fields to take the farm into the city.  Trees were turned into carrots and the rooves of the bus shelters into the drumlins of Down as we took to the streets of the city centre to promote our new products and new listings in Tesco and Asda.  This was supported by billboards and posters around the city and at points of purchase as well as sampling events in Custom House Square and various supermarkets from our fully branded double decker bus.

Traditional Advertising: Six Nations – Ireland vs Scotland – Spuds vs Tatties

Another campaign that we carried out was our 6 Nations campaign to support the start of the rugby season. We gave our customers the chance to win a 50” TV to watch the rest of the season on by asking them to vote for what they call potatoes, “Spuds VS Tatties” in relation to the  game between Ireland and Scotland. We also supported the competition by having our branding appear on the LED perimeter boards throughout the match itself. The results were phenomenal and we received nearly 26,000 entries to the competition with a record breaking engagement on social with over 74,500 reached (and that’s not including the untold TV and stadium reach!). This huge return came from live tweeting, regular Facebook updates and external completion websites driving traffic to our sites.
