Mash Direct is an ambitious and rapidly growing food producer with an award winning range of healthy and nutritious ready to heat, chilled vegetable accompaniments. We grow the vegetables, cook them and pack them on our farm in County Down, Northern Ireland.
We are now looking for an additional tasting team member to help create even greater awareness of our products amongst consumers in the North of England.
What your job is all about:
Working to a schedule agreed with our account managers, you will be responsible for sampling our products to shoppers in selected retail outlets ranging from farm shops and fine food halls to supermarkets and large convenience stores.
We will train you in the safe and effective use of the equipment provided to heat and serve samples to shoppers as well as the product knowledge required to explain the benefits associated with eating our tasty and nutritious vegetable products. A sales target will be agreed in advance of each tasting event.
Reporting on your sampling activities as well as any trade or competitor information you able to collect needs to brief, clear and accurate.
Who you are:
Self-discipline and the ability to use your own initiative are pre-requisites for this role as you will be working alone much of the time, you will also understand the need to be confident, but respectful when liaising with store management and staff at all times.
You will be totally at ease communicating with other people and able to sell the benefits of our products in a conversational and knowledgeable manner.
Organisational skills will be needed to ensure that you have the right equipment and materials to undertake your work and to manage the demands on your time.
Experience would be helpful, as would a level 2 food safety and hygiene qualification, but is not essential as we will give training and support to the successful candidate.
You will need a current full driving licence and vehicle in order to facilitate the travel and transportation of equipment involved.
Eligibility to work in the UK is essential.
Work Times & Payment:
Working hours available will be based on a pre-arranged schedule and payment will be on an hourly rate basis for all hours worked. Working days will be primarily Fridays and Saturdays with occasional Sundays. Other days may be available by agreement.
