Regarded as the industry Oscars, The Guild of Fine Food’s annual Great Taste Awards are the UK’s largest independent evaluation of fine food and drink. The great taste logo assures consumers of genuine, proven fine food with excellence in taste, texture and flavour.

Taste of Britain 2007

The Taste of Britain Awards are run by the Daily Telegraph in association with Sainsbury’s. The aim is to celebrate the Best of British Food and Drink and to honour and support those who grow and make it.

“The consensus among the judging panel was that this year’s entrants were even more impressive – a remarkable achievement considering what a rotten hand many farmers have been dealt during 2007. Entrants showed outstanding enterprise and invention. Just as importantly, they also remained faithful to great British traditions. It all goes to prove that the quality and range of food produced in the UK continues to be truly outstanding. “

“British cuisine has seen a remarkable renaissance during the past few years – and our local ingredients play a huge role in making it absolutely delicious.”

We were delighted that our Champ has been shortlisted from 200 products entered for the Best UK Food category.

The Belfast Telegraph N.I. Business Awards in association with BMI - 6th April 2006

It was time to get the welly boots off and get all sparkly…sparkly…sparkly! Great awards ceremony, fantastic speeches and wait for it….yes we won first place in the Excellence in Innovation Category.
Martin and Tracy collected the award to the sound of ‘Monster Mash’ and cheering from the Mash Direct team!!
On the same night Mash Direct sponsored a ‘charity pub quiz’, our team there wasn’t as successful – but you can’t win them all.

John Simpson of the Economist said
“The main award in this category recognises how a small business can emerge in a changing market. As the old fades, or loses its business base, so some of the skills can be redirected and developed in a new area. Business is already coming from British and Irish suppliers and Mash Direct has been commended in the business TV series Dragon’s Den”

Taste of Success - 21st October, 2005

NI Food and Drink Awards (Foodie Oscars)

Normally we are not ones for blowing our own trumpet and so we were delighted that the judges at the Northern Ireland Food and Drink Awards did it for us.  It's great to be recognised for making a quality product  and running a decent business. We won the Bank of Scotland (Ireland) for the best new product-small company. The judges praised Mash Direct for a range of products with simple but excellent flavour. Mash Direct then stormed on to win another award from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for Innovation and Supply Chain Excellence.  This was open to any Northern Ireland Agri food business able to demonstarte the development of an innovative product with clear added value throughout the local supply chain. So, it's no wonder Martin is smiling!
